Short-form videos, made by your coding agent
Cutfac is a Mac app for solo developers who market their own app. Claude Code or Codex makes your TikToks, Reels and Shorts. When something is off, you select it, box it and say what to change.
How an edit works
You never learn a video editor. You mark the moment and describe the change.
- 1
Select the moment
Drag across the timeline, or press I and O at the playhead. The range is what the agent will change.
- 2
Box what's wrong
Drag a box over a caption, a logo or a face. It's optional; the range alone is often enough.
- 3
Say it plainly
Type what you want, like “make this caption shorter” or “get to the demo sooner”, and press Enter.
- 4
Compare, then keep
The agent gets a clip of the range, the frame with your box drawn on it, the timecodes and the original file. Compare before and after, then keep the edit or restore the previous version.
From reference to published
References
Save short-form videos that work. Cutfac splits them into scenes, pulls the hook frames, builds a contact sheet and extracts the audio. Your agent writes down why they work.
Formats
Turn what works into recipes with hook rules, beats, length and checks. Your agent follows a format instead of starting from a blank page.
Board
Every video moves from idea to published on one board, with timecoded feedback, upload checks, a schedule and the numbers after it ships.
Your app
Import your app from its App Store, Google Play or landing page URL. Its positioning, call-to-action rules and screenshots go into every video.
Runs on the agent you already pay for
Cutfac starts Claude Code or Codex on your Mac, one session per video, and shows each step as it works. It uses your own account and plan, so there's no second AI bill.
No agent set up? Every request has a Copy prompt button with the timecodes and file paths, ready to paste into any assistant.
Plain files on your Mac
- Workspaces are plain folders and YAML you can open, diff and back up.
- Videos are processed on your Mac with ffmpeg. Nothing is uploaded to us.
- If you stop paying, the app and your files keep working.
Early bird: $99 a year for the first 100 people
After launch, Solo is $180 a year or $19 a month, with a 7-day free trial. Building the open-source version yourself stays free.
Free tools for short-form video
Check safe zones, time a voiceover script and make contact sheets. They run in your browser, and your files never leave it.
Stop editing. Start pointing.
Your agent makes the cut. You mark what's wrong and say what you want instead.
